Our story

We first bonded by talking over our classmates in 2022. Our class at MSU in Bozeman, where we met, was kinda like a book debate club. And both of us agreed on pretty much everything. We tied every single book back to traditional folk values, interrupting conversations to repeat each other – which definitely wore on our poor professor.

After a couple books, we went on our first backpacking trip together (not a date!) to Elk Lake. The day after we got back, Andrew asked India out for crepes (a date!). We skipped class and talked for hours by a river. We hung out all the time, after that! Andrew taught India pottery, and India taught Andrew to snowboard. We quickly became best friends. And best friends talk each other into dropping out. So we did! – to pursue the sort of life we had met talking about.

Since 2023, India’s awesome parents have put up with us living in their home in Washington. We’ve been on all kinds of adventures in the mountains – backpacking, hiking, climbing, snowboarding – and sometimes with our doggie, Maxy, too!

In June of 2025, we backpacked the iconic Mount Townsend. We hiked to the peak to watch a gorgeous sunrise. The light shone over all the islands of the Puget Sound and the Cascades in the east, and the Olympics to the west. Bundled in our sleeping bags, Andrew proposed with a beautiful heart shaped painting, holding a ring.
